The Comprehensive NF Center at Washington University houses one of the world’s largest multi-disciplinary team of clinicians and laboratory scientists focused on accelerating the pace of scientific discovery and its application to the care of individuals with NF.
Using this team approach, we have already identified new potential treatments for NF and made many important research and clinical discoveries. Building upon these successes, we now plan to leverage the unique capabilities at Washington University to establish an international standard for the care of children and families with NF by incorporating basic and clinical collaborative science into the routine management of these complex disorders.
To achieve these goals, we have developed a framework in which future advances in clinical care directly result from a detailed understanding of the genetic, molecular, and cellular basis for the medical problems affecting individuals with NF.
